Approx. 520 yds. E. of Rum Bridge, in a S.E. direction, crossing the railway line and continuing to the N. bank of the River Stour.
Limitations: Footbridge over the River Stour now non-existent
2 FP Ashen Road — Essex County Bdy.
Along the S. bank of the river, commencing north of the railway crossing over the road, in a N.E. direction, crossing the railway line S. of Malting Lane, then continuing along the S. bank, crossing over a footbridge at the sluice, then turning in a S.E. direction to a footbridge over the River Stour.
2A FP Commencing at the footbridge at the southern end of Malting Lane at OS grid reference TL7698845109 and progressing in a south-south-easterly direction over a partially metalled surface for 2 metres to the junction with FP2 on the western side of the former railway embankment at OS grid reference TL7698945107. Continuing in an east-south-easterly direction up the western side of the embankment for 10 metres to join FP18 at OS grid reference TL76994510. Continuing down the eastern side of the embankment for 20 metres to rejoin FP2 at OS grid reference TL77014510.

3 FP Stoke Road — High Street
Approx. 30 yds. W. of Ashen Road junction, in a N.W. direction along the W. boundary of "Cliftons" then in a N.E. direction passing N. of the Chapel and through the "Swan" P.H. yard to High Street.
4 FP Junction Path No. 3 — Sheepgate Lane
Approx. 30 yds. W. of the N.W. corner of the Congregational Chapel, in a N. direction, passing E. of the Cemetery and the W. end of Common Street to Sheepgate Lane, approx. 1100 yds. from Bridewell Street.
5 FP Stoke Road — Junction Path No. 9
From Rum Bridge, in a N.W. direction, passing through Bench Barn farmyard and then across fields, to path No. 9 approx. 300 yds. E. of Leys Farm.
Limitations: Subject to being ploughed where path crosses fields.
6 FP Junction Path No. 5 — Junction Path No. 4
Opp. the N. corner of Bench Barn, in a N.E. direction for approx. 370 yds. then in an E. direction along the S. side of Upper Common, then in a S.E. direction to path No. 4 approx. 60 yds. N. of the Mortuary Chapel and W. of Church Farm.
7 FP Common Street — Lower Common
From the W. end of Common Street (a) in a N.W. direction to Sheepgate Lane, along the N. side and then the W. side of Upper Common to path No. 6; (b) in a W. direction for approx. 300 yds; (c) in a S.W. direction to path No.6; (d) in a S. direction, between Upper and Lower Common linking paths (A),(b) and (c).
8 FP Bridewell Street — Lower Common
Approx. 130 yds. N. of Common Street, in a W. direction for approx. 40 yds. The path then bifurcates, one section running S.W. to path No. 4 and the other W. to the N.W. corner of Lower Common, joining path No. 7 at Sheepgate Lane.
9 FP Bridewell Street — Chilton Street
Along Sheepgate Lane and then across ploughed fields in a W. direction, turning N. approx. 60 yds. N.E. of Leys Farm for approx. 950 yds. then N.E. across fields to a point at grid reference 75104688, then running North North West along a field edge for approximately 52 metres to its Northern boundary at a point at g/r 75084693; descending a bank to a sleeper bridge to a point at g/r 75084694 approximately 64 metres West of the entrance to Chilton Lodge Farm.

10 FP Folly Road — Snow Hill, near
Along the N. bank of a stream, near the S. end of Folly Road, in an E. direction for approx. 60 yds. then N.E. across a field, then in an E. direction along the S. side of allotments to Poslingford parish boundary. After continuing E. in Poslingford parish, the path turns S. across a bridge over a stream and re-enters Clare parish, running S. to the Snow Hill road approx. 500 yds. W. of its junction with the road leading to Poslingford village.
Limitations: Subject to being ploughed where path crosses fields.
11 FP Cavendish Road — Cavendish Parish Boundary
Along Harp Lane commencing on the E. side of a river bridge near the Gas Works, in a N.E. direction to approx. 100 yds. E. of Hermitage Farm, at which point it bifurcates; one section runs N.E. to the Parish boundary, due W. of Houghton Hall, Cavendish, and the other runs S.W. passing S. of Hermitage Farm, and, after continuing in the parish of Poslingford for approx. 150 yds. It re-enters Clare and joins path No. 12 approx. 150 yds. from Snow Hill.
12 FP Snow Hill — Poslingford Parish Bdy
Commences along the entrance to Hermitage Farm N. of the Brickworks, crossing the bridge over the stream, then turning N. for approx. 80 yds. it continues into the parish of Poslingford for approx. 150 yds. then re-enters Clare and continues to the Poslingford parish boundary, N.W. of Hermitage Farm.
13 FP Chilton Road — Hundon Road
Approx. 370 yds. W. of Chilton Lodge Farm in a N.W. direction along the W. side of a stream to the Hundon road approx. 330 yds. N. of its junction with the Kedington road.
14 FP Chilton Street — Trundle's Farm
Opp. Chilton Hall in a N. direction to a point approx. 50 yds. S. of Trundle's Farm.
15 FP Station Road — Cavendish Road
From the end of the County road (approx. 70 yds. E. of Market Hill) in a N.E. direction across the outer Bailey joining the Cavendish road on the W. side of the Gasworks.
16 FP Southern end of County Road 120 yds. E. of Gas Works — Path No. 2
In a S. direction across railway line, passing W. of Corn Mill, to the footbridge at Path No. 2 and Essex County Bdy.

From the Corn Mill, in a W. direction along S. bank of stream to Path No. 2.
18 FP Commencing on the southern side of a watercourse at OS grid reference TL78554556 and progressing in a south-easterly direction across meadowland for 9 metres to the riverbank at OS grid reference TL78554555. Changing to a southerly direction beside the river for 61 metres to OS grid reference TL78544549; changing to a south-westerly direction across a meadow for 24 metres to OS grid reference TL78524548; changing to a south-south-westerly direction along a path hedged on both sides, up a gradient for 39 metres to the top of the former railway embankment at OS grid reference TL78514544. Changing to a west-south-westerly direction along the former railway embankment, hedged on both sides for 560 metres and through a gap on the northern side of a locked field gate at OS grid reference TL77964533; crossing an access road to a second gap on the northern side of a locked field gate at OS grid reference TL77954533. Continuing along the former railway line between hedges and descending into a cutting with drainage gullies on either side for 548 metres to a brick bridge carrying FP16 over the path at OS grid reference TL77424521. Continuing under the brick bridge (without connecting to FP16) within the railway cutting for 93 metres to an iron bridge on the eastern side of Chilton Stream and a junction with FP20 at OS grid reference TL77334520. Continuing for 14 metres across the iron bridge immediately adjacent to its northern edge and on a metalled path to the junction with FP21 at OS grid reference TL77314520. Continuing for 13 metres to a junction with FP22 at a wooden bridge on the eastern bank of a watercourse at OS grid reference TL77304519. Changing to a west-north-westerly direction across a wooden bridge for 14 metres to the western bank of the watercourse at OS grid reference TL77294519. Continuing on a metalled surface in a generally westerly direction for 116 metres, passing to the north of the former railway station to a junction with FP19 at OS grid reference TL77174519. Continuing west-south-west for 122 metres to a gap on the northern side of a locked field gate at OS grid reference TL77054516. Changing to a south-westerly direction over a metalled surface for 13 metres to OS grid reference TL77044515.
